Unlike many social networks, our termination policy is not automated. Volunteer ombudsmen review each case, and the details are made public to the membership, minus any personally identifying information.
All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability. No bullying, harassment, or illegal activity will be tolerated. Intollerance of another person's faith, creed, race, sexuality or sexual identity will not be allowed on MediaRevolt.org. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will try to provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect by posting on the platform. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Service.
While we celebrate free speech, this is not necessarily a free-speech space. Hate speech of any sort, pornography and being abusive towards other members will not be tolerated here. MediaRevolt will have more on this in the Forums section of this website and use that account's blog to address these issues as well. All post deletion and user block activity is done by actual humans and those decisions are fully disclosed in the forums. Everything is as transparent as possible while protecting user's privacy at the same time. The community always has a say, unless related to any activity that puts the site itself at risk.
By using MediaRevolt, you acknowledge that this website and any associated apps are not-for-profit, and completely user funded. Speed of servers, location of servers, development of apps, hiring of coding professionals and marketing is all proportionate to community member financial participation. Members of this community are encouraged to try to get their friends, contacts and peers to join the network as word-of-mouth is our primary marketing ability. Those who are able to and want to see the service improve are encouraged to invest in it. Currently MediaRevolt does not break even.
Currently MediaRevolt only has servers in the United States of America and is focussed on serving US based members. If members of the community in other countries would like to improve the service for their area, it is encouraged to build a work group of members to build the solution for providing service in your country yourselves, just as the founders did to build out this service for the United States. This project is completely member financed and driven.
Because we have an app in the Apple app strore, these terms must make it clear that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We have volunteer ombudsman as our method for filtering objectionable content. Users are able to flag objectionable content on every post and post type on both the website and in app. Our mechanism for users to block abusive users is clear on post menues and on profiles. Volunteer ombudsman will act on objectionable content reports within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided the offending content.
By using this site, all users take the following pledge:
"I pledge not to troll, doxx, practice hate speech or harassment and to treat other users with kindness, dignity and respect."
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us.
